The SMU Student Emergency Grant Fund was established for situations when we must come together as a community to help students in crisis. Hundreds of Mustang families are currently struggling with a loss of income and unexpected expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University is working with Joie and many students like her to bridge financial gaps. Since March, 90 students have applied for assistance and, so far, 84 students have collectively received more than $53,491. Funds have supported rent payments, tuition assistance, groceries, gas to be able to get to and from work, wi-fi to access online courses and numerous other necessities that many of us may take for granted.
As the pandemic continues to affect our day-to-day lives, students are applying daily, and they need your help. Please make a gift today to support students in need of immediate financial assistance.
